Edge community hosts Texas victory celebration for Blue Ribbon Forty

The Edge community in Bryan County held a banquet and program honoring the 1924 victory of the Edge Blue Ribbon Forty Club. D. L. Borden and C. L. Benson led the program with speakers including Frank A. Briggs, J. E. Covey, and T. O. Walton as emcee. The event recognized 100 percent attendance, blue ribbons, trips to the Dallas Fair, and a Delco plant gift for the club. Mrs Norma Fay Hill Outlaw received $20 for a state winning project book.

Stolen Ford Coupe Believed Taken From Bryan Street

Between 6 30 and 7 45 last night an almost new Ford coupe disappeared from in front of Will McCulloch s home in Bryan. McCulloch saw it there at 6 30. returned at 7 45 and the car was missing. Esther McCulloch, who uses the car to travel to College, had left it there earlier. No trace has been found.

Two Cars Stolen in Bryan Saturday Evening

A Ford coupe owned by Will Taylor of College Station was stolen Saturday night from his home at Sim Cooper's house between 7 and 7 30. Taylor saw a person enter and drive away but could not catch the thief. The 37 year old W. E. Edmonds of Bryan and Brazos County died recently and was buried at City Cemetery after a service at the Cox home conducted by Dr. John A. Held. Poll taxes paid soar to 3425 in county totals

County Tax Collector J Marion Ferguson reported 3425 poll taxes paid with 15 exemptions and 2580 new car licenses issued, with 500 to 600 still due and facing a 25 percent penalty. City records show 1078 poll taxes paid and about 95 percent of city taxes collected by early February, a strong showing for Bryan.
