Government program aids cotton price recovery for farmers

Between 1910 and 1914 a farmer paid one and a half bales, three bales in 1930, and the 1931 large crop pushed prices down. The Adjustment Administration program offers a production center to help farmers cooperate with the government to restore the crop’s paying power.

Soremouth vaccine success prompts expanded Texas use

The Ranch Experiment Station near Sonora and Rocksprings reports 1 351 700 doses of sore mouth vaccine for sheep and goats in 1935 with satisfactory results in preventing fore mouth. Field checks show vaccinated lambs largely free of infection compared with non vaccinated groups across Texas Kansas and Colorado. The program aims to continue production at a low price and urges early written orders for 1936 with a one cent per dose price to cover costs.

Christmas Offerings From College Presbyterian Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary of the College Presbyterian church held a Monday December 18 meeting at Mrs. C B Campbell home with Mrs J S Sey as joint hostess. They gave three offerings for charity including a barrel of homemade cookies for the Tex Mex school at Kingsville and a $20 cash donation for ministerial relief.
