Texas Headlight Law Highlights Registration Requirements

The Texas headlight law requires a headlight certificate from a test station within thirty days of registration or an affidavit if the vehicle lacks headlamps. A re test is available during the year, with a twenty five cent fee for the initial certificate, and free re tests until the next registration period. A Fairy Conspiracy Delights Assembly Hall Audience

Children of the A and M Consolidated School staged A Fairy Conspiracy at Assembly Hall College Station. The cast featured Cinderella Goldilocks Sleeping Beauty Jack the Giant Killer and Snow White with fairies brownies and clowns. Proceeds about 50 dollars funded school band instruments.

Husbands' Party At Walton Home Of Campus Study Club

Brazos County Farm Bureau Buys Certified Seed for Cotton

The Brazos County Farm Bureau meeting at the courthouse drew attendees despite bad roads. Members ordered Kasch Mebane Rowden Lone Star and Acala certified seeds from the Texas Farm Bureau Cotton Association, with 72,000 bushels to be sold at about $2.00 per bushel to promote longer staple cotton. J Allen Myers Sr. returned from Washington D C after visiting President Coolidge and Congress officials. Sam Douchmas Died of Pneumonia in City Home

Samuel Douchmas 65 died Monday morning at his Brazos county home after a three day pneumonia illness. Born in Italy he had farmed in Brazos county for 42 years. Survived by son Angelo Douchmas two daughters Mrs. R S Salvaggio and Mrs Ross Montealli and brother Frank Douchmas, all of Brazos county. Tabor Woman's Club Gifts to Orphans' Homes

The Tabor Woman's Club conducted a quilting bee at Miss Mary Locke's home producing three quilts for orphans. One quilt was sent to the Methodist Orphans' Home in Waco, another to the Baptist Buckner Orphans' Home in Dallas, and a third by Mrs. Ezra Wilson for the Methodist home. The day featured devoted service and fellowship among the participants.

Christmas Programs In Rural Sections Soon

Two rural communities plan Christmas programs next Wednesday night in school houses at Tabor and Steep Hollow. Tabor will feature a Christmas program followed by a tree, while Steep Hollow will include a tree as part of the program. Three Boys Sent to Waco to Face Theft Charge

Grady Miller Roy Bywer and Jack Wallace three youths from Kansas City were held by Constable J D Conlee in Bryan for stealing a Buick roadster from Waco used as an expressman and former fire chief official car. A Worley residence suffered extensive damage today after a fire broke out while Miss Worley had arrived in town. Firefighters battled the blaze as investigators determine the cause and extent of the loss.

Vernon Seed Farm to Grow Half and Half Cotton Seed

Vernon will operate a seed farm next year for half and half cotton seed under Summerour Bros of Norcross Georgia with Marvin L. Sharp and Delphus Bourland. About 5000 acres will be planted to produce the special seed for planting.

Fifteen Ramsey Farm convicts escape in Texas

In Brazoria County officers and prison guards search upper Brazoria County for 15 Ramsey Farm escapees who fled last night through a dormitory floor. Two inmates were serving 99 year terms. Officials warn nearby towns to be alert as the group may head toward Houston and Galveston.

Christmas Party Brings Great Joy

Mrs. H. H. Newton and Mrs. George Foster hosted the Win-One class at the First Baptist Sunday School for a Christmas party with gifts for Buckner Orphan Home. Three dozen gifts and a $44 cash donation were given, officers re-elected, and guests enjoyed a holiday ice cream plate and treats.
