The Senior B Y P U of First Baptist held its annual banquet at the Parish House with thirty members and guests. Toastmaster Pat Newton led the program as Miss Artie Lou Smith explained the contest results, and Mrs. Albert Buchanan delivered the main address. A decorated Christmas tree, music by Mrs. Roy Danforth and Sam Knox, and a festive four course menu concluded the evening.

White Xmas Observed At the Christian Church

The First Christian church held a White Christmas program Sunday at 7 30 pm with green and white decorations a white cross and snow crystals. Over Thousand Of Clemency Proclamations

Governor Miriam A. Ferguson announced a broad clemency slate including 209 conditional pardons 406 pardons 208 furloughs and extensions 115 citizenship restorations and 11389 proclamations. Five pardons on jail sentences were remitted one parole revoked and a convicted man not yet sent to prison received a furlough. More Christmas pardons, totaling about 40 to 50, are expected next week.
