Funeral Services Held For Miss Callie Tooke

Miss Caroline Tooke died December 6 1926 in Bryan Texas aged 75 after a long illness. Her life of service endears her to five sisters and a large circle of friends. The funeral at 3 30 pm at the First Methodist church was conducted by Rev H H McCain with burial in Bryan City Cemetery. Pallbearers listed. honorary attendees named.

Lily Myers Bible Class Social Meeting at Mrs Vick Home

Lily Myers Bible Class of the First Baptist church met Friday evening at 7:30 with Mrs. Clarence Vick and Mrs. Roy Vick as joint hostesses. Mrs. P. S. Park presided, finances sound, New Year watch party planned, radio broadcast impromptu program, and a later telegram from across the United States praised the contributors. Brazos County Man Given Citizenship By Governor Ma

Governor Miriam A Ferguson granted one full pardon and eight citizenship restorations on Monday. Jim Porter of Victoria county, convicted of criminal assault in 1918 with a 5 to 25 year sentence, received the full pardon. Restorations covered Melvin Adkins, A Henszell, Claude Hallmark, Columbus Shaddix, Oz Redman, Oscar Ross, George Booker, and Willie Coleman, with offenses ranging from theft of automobile to liquor violations and burglaries.

Oil well near Brenham shows light oil at Mill Creek field

The Fitzsimmons-Konieczny well ten miles from Brenham yields light oil and is considered the best at Mill Creek. Tanks have been erected to store the oil, with a 50 000 barrel capacity tank to be built immediately.

Cotton Essay Rules For $100 Prize In Brazos County

The Bryan Weekly Eagle will publish full rules and progress of the Cotton Co operative Marketing Essay Contest for Brazos County students. Initiated by the Brages County Farm Bureau Cotton Association, it offers $100 in cash prizes to county grade and high school children. Bryan DeMolays Install New Officers in Bryan

Bryan DeMolays met at the Masonic Temple in Bryan for officer installation led by Richard Grant with Robert Wilcox as marshal.
