Bible Exhibit at Ozona Church Showcases Oldest Volumes

A Bible over 124 years old owned by Mrs. Ponce Seahorn topped the Ozona Methodist church exhibit as the oldest Bible in the display. S. E. Couch’s 120 year old book carries the most history. Mrs. Mary L. Perner owns the largest Bible, while Maggie May Kay and Jim Patrick share the smallest. Rev. Stanley Haver sponsored the event.

Warm Weather Anticipated for Thursday in Dallas Area

The cold wave continues tonight but temperatures are set to rise Thursday according to the weather bureau. Amarillo fell to 10 degrees last night, 44 degrees warmer than Edmonton Alberta which reported 24 below.

Reading Society Celebrates With Christmas Party

The Bryan Reading Club held a Christmas party at Mrs. Fred Jones on College Road with Yuletide decorations, contests, a puzzle roll call, and a Santa gift. Refreshments featured oysters and imperial pudding. The next meeting is January 4, 1927, at Carnegie Library club rooms.

Commerce Body Refuses New Ruling on Panhandle Line

The Interstate Commerce Commission refused to alter its November decision allowing the Fort Worth and Denver subsidiary of Burlington to build a line through Panhandle Texas. The Panhandle and Gulf road had also sought a rehearing after being denied a similar right.

Higher courts approve two death sentences in Texas cases

Court of Criminal Appeals today affirmed the death sentence for William Langhorne of Chapleau Till for the murder near La Grange of Valeria Zapalac and also upheld the death sentence for Bryant Satchell of McLennan County in the killing of T. F. Watson in 1926.

Bryan Residents Attend Navasota Funeral for Horlock and Others

Bryan citizens traveled to Navasota on Tuesday for the funeral of R. A. Horlock and nine others including Dr. R. H. Harrison Guy F. Boyett Joe Kaplan I Maniloff J R Fain Abe Kosofsky Frank J. Patronella and Sam Harrison. Horlock was the oldest member of the East Texas Temple D C K K at 74. The service was well attended with many floral tributes.

Attorney testifies on pardons and bonds in Texas

Austin attorney John E. Shelton told the House Investigating Committee he helped obtain 12 pardons and took fees in some cases while mostly working pro bono. He declared belief that Mrs. Ferguson is an exceptional woman. Representative R. M.
