They observed cotton and corn conditions, noted a drought impact in Tunis, met local merchants and a barbecued dinner at Nabors, and ended in Bryan around 7 o'clock with a coterie of farmers including J D Battle and others.

Death of Rev Coleman’s Child Mary Katherine

Mary Katherine Coleman daughter of Rev and Mrs A T Coleman died Friday at 4 30 am from typhoid fever. Burial was in Waco at 5 30 pm Friday. She would have turned three on November 2. Rev Coleman formerly served as assistant pastor at First Baptist here and with B B A, resigning about two and a half months ago to move to Waco.

City Manager and Electrician Resign from City Posts

City Commission accepted the resignations of City Manager William Wipperman and City Electrician C. G. Smith at a special meeting. Wipperman leaves immediately to attend Leon Springs training camp. Smith departs September 1 for Port Arthur to join the Texas company. Mayor Lawrence will oversee city affairs until successors are chosen. Smith came to the city from Cameron. his parents presently reside here.
