Bryan church pastor Rev. Fred Comber died in the early hours after a short illness. Born in England and raised in Canada, he moved to Illinois where he began ministry before relocating to Texas two years ago after his wife’s death at Murphysboro. He left no children.

Start Work at Once Ferguson Crossing
Chairman Wilson of the highway committee says county Judge Maloney approved immediate work on the Ferguson crossing and the road this side. The committee has raised about $1,000 for the Ferguson crossing and two other Navasota river crossings. The plan includes road improvements, the county funding the bridge on this side, and local citizens funding the other side. Judge Maloney hopes for local cooperation to improve access along the road to Ferguson crossing. The Democrat crossing and then the San Antonio crossing will follow.
