Farmers Seek Powen to Kill The Leaf Worm
County Agent C. L. Benson reports many farmers visiting his office for leaf worm poisoning guidance across the county. Calcium arsenate, 3-6 pounds per acre, is recommended. Paris Green must be diluted if used. The A and M College suggests one pound Paris Green, one pound flour, four pounds hydrated lime, with 4-6 pounds per acre. R. R. Reppert calls calcium arsenate the best cheap effective poison. Farmers should act quickly as worms appear, applying poison when dew is on the plants and washing horses and riders after spraying.
