William A Stasny of Bryan and Miss Victoria Kopecky daughter of Mr Joe Kopecky of Rye wed at Saint Josephs Church at four in a large formal ceremony. The couple then hosted a reception and danced at the bride’s country home before heading to West 28th Street to set up their new residence.

Key to Success Highlighted by Bryan Speaker at Fourth District Club Women

Bryan editor Mrs. Lee J. Rountree spoke on Woman's Opportunity before the Fourth District Club Women in Temple. The motion pictures committee urged a State board of film censorship and cleaner picture houses. Dr. A. J. Armstrong of Baylor spoke in the afternoon as delegates heard club reports. The day closed with a Baylor College recital ahead of a Country Club banquet.

Kurten School Closes With Splendid Final Program

Special to the Eagle Kurten April 10. Trustees announced the school would close the following Tuesday ending a seven month term. A hurried closing program was presented Tuesday evening as pupils performed with diligence despite a wind storm that disrupted some cast members. The program featured a nine year old boys chorus and a drill titled Gay Little Waves among other acts.

Steep Hollow Club hosts April meeting with four Hs prize

Steep Hollow agricultural club held a special meeting at the school house on March 31 with County Agent C. L. Benson in attendance. Talks covered the four Hs in club work and a prize for the best talk or reasons at the next gathering. Waco Trip Reports Severe Injuries From Auto Crash

Mrs Jno A Held suffers multiple injuries including two forearm fractures and facial lacerations after an automobile wreck. Dr Jno A Held and Mrs Held were injured in the collision. Mrs Tidwell, leading to wounding of her back hip and jawbone fracture, travels with Mr H C Tidwell of College to report her condition.

Parazos County Wins Distinction in Home Grown Garden Products

Mrs. Frank Dobrovonny of near College Station visited the Eagle office with samples of crisp lettuce beets and cabbage from her garden. She reports ready sales with Bryan and College merchants and notes a prize beet measuring 18 inches in circumference. She plans to keep large beets for seeds next year.

Fine program presented at Wellborn

The Wellborn community enjoyed a rare musical afternoon when Mrs D MclIntosh led an A and M Consolidated School orchestra. Students from Wellborn and Shirock performed classical and popular numbers amid floral stage décor as County Agent Benson praised the event and local growth.

Missionary Baptists of Brazos county meet at Harvey

The first union workers meeting of the Missionary Baptists of Brazos county was held at Harvey on Tuesday April 6 at Bethel Baptist church. A good crowd attended with a fine program and a bountiful dinner after the morning service. An April shower threatened but spared the gathering. Next meeting will be at Kurten.

Dan Hall Weds Miss Beard in Hearne Wedding

At the bride's parents home in Hearne on April 10 at 8:30 p.m. Pauline Beard married Dan Sherrill Hall of Bryan. Rev. Jesse C. Thomson officiated with Jo Anne Davis as ring bearer. East Side School Concert Raises Funds with Art Pieces

At East Side Graded School the grade teachers presented a 3 PM program in the high school auditorium to raise funds for framing artworks recently purchased. An admission of 22 dollars was collected as pupils from first through seventh grades performed dances songs and a one act play all praised as beautiful and artistic.

Mrs Eberstadt Suffers Dislocated Hip in Jefferson

Secretary Sam FE Eberstadt stays by his mother Mrs Anna Eberstadt in Jefferson as doctors report a dislocated hip after a bed fall during fever illness. King’s Highway visitor trades with Bryan merchants

Joe Novosad of King’s Highway visited Bryan today and spoke with The Eagle office. He confirmed practicing better cotton on fewer acres and more feed on more acres, noting 18 acres of corn and small plots of sorghum oats and kaffir corn. He focuses on good staple cotton.

Corpus Christi April 9 Frank H Sparrow of Fort Worth prominent Mason was elected grand commander of Knights Templar at the seventy third annual conclave. He succeeds William G Bell of Austin. Fire Department Plans May Carnival Fundraiser

The Bryan Fire Department held a full attendance meeting last night with songs led by N. E. Warren and a warm fellowship. A retirement resignation from W. A. Seibert was announced as he leaves the city. A committee was formed to gauge local support for a May carnival to fund delegates to the Harlingen convention. they briefed the Chamber of Commerce and will present to other local groups.
