Eagle Man Reports Cross Area Roads and Farms

A representative of the Eagle notes Cross in Grimes county shows crops behind due to frost and late planting. Corn is small and some fields are being plowed out while much land remains to be broken and drought conditions persist. Cattle dipping, rough roads, and new cottages mark the scene as residents push ahead with farm work and a community gin operates in Cross.
