TABOR April 1. Our community learns Sheriff Leonard E. Morehead was assassinated Saturday night at Steep Hollow during a show. Funeral services were held Sunday at the courthouse with interment at Bryan Cemetery. The region mourns. others recover from flu and measles.

Steep Hollow, April 1. Local residents mourn the sudden death of L. E. Morehead in the neighborhood Saturday night. H. D. Cuykendall of the Bryan Eagle visited the area Sunday. The wagon show recently here has moved on to other communities after a successful run. A number of residents attended an all day singing at Millican, including the Cook and Parker families, the Risinger and Foster households, and others. Nearby visitors include Lynn Battle from Rock Prairie and several Bryan and Harvey residents joining weekend gatherings with relatives.
