J. R. Stewart of Benchley was injured when a hammer struck a gallery step and discharged a .22 Colt rifle. The ball pierced the right arm’s biceps and lodged near the shoulder. Dr. Mondrick removed the ball and expects a brief recovery with no serious consequences. Also noted is John B. Hines buying A D McConnico’s insurance business and moving offices to the Smith building. Hines praised as trustworthy and capable by the Eagle.
