Bishop Kinsolving Visits St Andrew's Bryan

Rt. Rev. Geo. H. Kinsolving of Austin arrived in Bryan for his annual visit to St. Andrew's parish and was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. J. W. English. He met the vestry at 5 PM to discuss church welfare and preached a sermon on Christ's life and the crucifixion.

Brilliant Reception At W J Coulter Store In Bryan

Bryan ladies attended a Monday afternoon reception at W J Coulter’s store. Miss Blanche Society and Sir Charles Patriot were the honorees, with Miss Madeline Hanway and Miss Helen Demaret serving punch. A moving picture show in the evening showcased Society shoes by Robert Johnson Rand of St Louis and souvenirs were handed out at the storefront.

Rev J N Thomas Called as Pastor at First Christian

Rev J N Thomas of Haskell Texas preached both morning and evening at First Christian. After the evening sermon a church board meeting unanimously called him pastor, and he accepted. He will move to Bryan with wife and one child, intending to begin work April 11. Mrs Thomas is active in church work. Also a committee of Retail Merchants Association members meets at Carnegie Hall at 10 this morning to raise a bonus for the A and M College trolley line.

Rev. S. W. Kendrick assisting Pastor Rev. Payne reports a fine meeting in Hempstead. Twenty public professions and twelve received for baptism mark the revival as crowds overflow the Baptist church.

Amuck on Campus A M College Shooting

An incident at A and M College tents near dorms saw Ian Amuck and a colored laborer named Sims. A gun about a yard long was fired injuring Henry Grissett and another man before cadets restrained the assailant and arrests followed. Sheriff Conlee retrieved the suspect for charges of assault with intent to murder and carrying a large gun.

Runaway Buggy In Kurten Injures Two Women

Dr W G Drummond of Kurten suffered a runaway with his buggy on Sunday. The horse bolted after fright causing the buggy to smash and eject Miss Luna Drummond and Miss Ella Edge who were hurled out and bruised but not seriously hurt.

New Cemetery Fence Arrives For City Cemetery

The new iron fence for the cemetery, bought by the Cemetery Association through J A Myers, has arrived. The project will cost a little over $800 with half paid by the Cemetery Association and the other half by the city council.

Wood Contract Awarded to Local Suppliers at A. and M. College

Bids to supply 1400 cords of wood were opened at the president's office Saturday afternoon and the contract was awarded to G. R. Wicker and C. E. B. Boyett of this city.
