Well Completed at Bryan Plant Increases Water Supply

The Bryan Water Ice Light & Power Company reports a new well at the plant reached about two hundred feet. The well delivers a fine flow of pure water and has run steadily since 10 PM, with the pump producing a splendid stream. A second well is planned on the west side to access the water stratum. The drill was done by J. W. Poyner of Albert Warnecke Well Contractors, Houston, in expert fashion.

Aunt Mary Erwin Dies After 35 Years Of Service

Aunt Mary Erwin a faithful old Black Mammy with a pure life died Thursday night at age 80 after a heart trouble attack. For thirty five years she served in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J N Cole and helped raise their children. The Cole family mourns and planned an elegant funeral. Her faithful life earned love and respect and a crown of righteousness.

Rev J N Thomas of Haskell Texas will preach both morning and evening services at First Christian Church. Sunday school begins at 9 45 with Christian Endeavor at 6 45 in the evening. All are cordially invited to attend these services.

Fire levels Milano drug store and row of shops

A blaze at T. C. Eggleston's drug store in Milano Texas early March 25 destroyed or damaged multiple buildings on the street. Losses include O. O. F. hall, W. O. W. hall, several frame buildings, and stock from J. D. Peeples and Eggleston, with about 13 000 dollars in total exposure and partial insurance on some properties. The fire started from a lamp explosion and a north wind helped save one side of the town.

First Methodist Church Announces Sunday Services and Leagues

The church lists Sunday School at 9 45 a m with 228 in attendance last Sunday and 250 expected. Morning sermon at 11 a m and evening at 7445 p m by Pastor Thomas H Morris. Evening features Lily Morris singing in dreaf mute sign language. Junior League 3 p m with about 100 members and 60 to 74 average attendance. Senior League 6 45 p m led by M H Jameson.

Bryan City Officers Election Ordinance 1909 Adopted

City Council of Bryan enacts an election for Marshal Secretary and three councilmen to be held at the County Court House on the first Tuesday in April 1909. The presiding officer and appointees will conduct the poll under the City Charter Ordinances and State Election Law. Signed March 4 1909 by Mayor Maloney and Secretary J B Hines.

New East River Bridge Completed Sees City Boom Loom

Special to Bryan Morning Eagle reports Queensboro Bridge as a major milestone linking Manhattan and Long Island City. It will be the third East River link with Manhattan and the Manhattan Bridge under construction. Officials project 600000 daily users, with opening to traffic next week and formal dedication planned for summer.
