Hannibal C Pearson born November 21 1849 in Filmore Andrew county Missouri died September 11 1933 at his Browning home aged 83 years 9 months 20 days He married Mary Izabeth Cotter April 4 1881 they had seven children survived by Mrs O B Tully Seattle Wash Mrs S Strait Copper Spur Jo Ernest Pearson Purdin Mrs F B Green Clarkson Wash Mrs M E Standlee Chicago Ill and thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren Funeral services were held September 13 at home conducted by Rev S B Lock Linneus and interment at Jenkins Cemetery Card of Thanks from family. Also notice of Mrs A B Clark Malissa Adaline Johnson born June 15 1850 near Browning Sullivan County Missouri died September 8 1933 at age 83 years 2 months 23 days Married Augustus Byron Clark 1869 he died 1918 no children She joined South Methodist Church and was last of eight Johnson siblings 18 nieces and nephews survive Burial at Hoover Cemetery. Live Wire Class of M E Church South hosted a shower at Bunton Carr home with teacher Katheryn Calhoun and attendees. Bridge Club hosted by Miss Dorothy L Alspach honored Harvey F Dickinson and Edward F Williams before college. refreshments served.

Former Missouri governor Sam A Baker, who led the state from 1925 to 1929, died Saturday in Jefferson City after about four years of illness. Born November 7, 1874, in Patterson, Wayne County, he rose from humble roots to become state superintendent of schools and later governor. Funeral services were held Monday at First Presbyterian Church, with interment in Riverside Cemetery. state offices were closed in the afternoon per Gov Park's order.

Lloyd Lambert has secured Nova Carson of Unionville and other men to prospect for coal on the Brumbaugh farm north of the city. They are sinking a shaft about twenty five feet deep, three by six feet, encountering rock in the way. A paying coal bed would greatly benefit the community if found.
