Norma Jean Monroe born March 26 1930 inerson and died August 31 1932 at age two years five months five days She was the daughter of Dee and Eva Monroe and survived by her parents grandfather William Pulliam an aunt Mrs W J Penhale two uncles Lloyd Pulliam Water town SD and Jess Pulliam Linneus MO plus many relatives and friends The family laments a precious one lost and grieves the void left in their home while faith is expressed that her soul rests in heaven

The Grace Methodist Episcopal Church fourth quarterly conference urged Rev. Lloyd V. Harmon to remain as pastor for another year. District superintendent Dr. C. C. James presided as the congregation thanked him and Mrs. Harmon for their work and prepared a request to Bishop C. L. Mead for reappointment. The annual conference is set for Sept 28 at Sedalia. Harmon arrived last fall and led many South Side activities and social efforts. he previously served at the North Side church. Bridge Nearly Completed After cedar piling arrived the bridge west of the city is again being repaired and will quickly be finished once piling is driven.
The Cotter descendants of Stephen Jerry and John Cotter met at Linneus Park on Sunday Sept 4 with about 175 attendees. Music by L E Grice and sons Donis and Fern of Trenton. Paul Porter spoke. officers elected. next reunion set for Brookfield. Several families across towns attended including Browning Mendon Sumner Council Bluffs Brookfield and Kirksville with many names listed as present. A birthday surprise dinner followed for Joe Moore at Morris Chapel with a large turnout and many relatives in attendance.
The Stitch and Chatter Club met with Mrs. John Browning on Thursday September 1 and produced two quilts and two comforts then held a bountiful dinner. An amusement committee was appointed: Amelia Kelley Ina Sargent and Orpha Dickinson. Twenty four members attended and jokes greeted the roll call.
The Electric Theatre presents talking pictures every Friday and Saturday night with all seats priced at 19 cents each. The program features recent releases and silent era classics in a single screening.

Monday evening August 29 Mrs W R Ware entertained ninety five guests in honor of her niece Avis Wheatcraft of LaPlata. Activities included lawn games indoor party plays and round dancing with music by Lucile Hanman and John Browning Paul Porter and Willie Ware. Candy was served and guests departed at midnight declaring the evening greatly enjoyable.
The M E Church Ladies plan a food sale at the Bakery Building this Saturday. Proceeds support church programs.
The Rev I E Rudloff was returned for another year as pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. He has endeared himself to the community and church members, and the People here are fortunate to retain him.
