Browning Vicinity to Get Coal Mine Soon
O H Reed of Newtown leased land southwest of Browning owned by O S Stone containing surface coal. He plans to install machinery and begin operations soon. The near surface coal promises easy mining with good quality. The mine is expected to hire several workers and provide winter coal relief for the community.

Atlas sorghum crop certified plans in county office
Certifying Sorgo T. M. Kimbrough northwest of Purdin is underway in County Agent Hall's office this week. He plans to certify his Atlas Sorgo grown from 4,000 lbs purchased by Brookfield Farmers Exchange last spring. Certification can be done through the College of Agriculture and field certification is possible if not mixed with other sorghum.

The Browning Cardinals suffered their first shutout defeat of the season, 9 to 0, as Chillicothe Club defeated them Sunday. Absences and defensive errors led to seven unearned runs, with Browning managing only three hits. The loss ends the 1937 baseball season for Browning, who finish 9–6 for a .667 percentage.
