The Stan feature length film about Standard Oil life in Prairie View opens September 1 in Browning at 8 pm and may move to the Electric Theatre if rain ruins the outdoor site. Filmed on the RKO-Pathe lot with stars Robert Armstrong and Andy Clyde the drama traces three generations of a company family amid farm scenes and a tractor plowing contest.

Obituary of Browning resident F. L. Biswell
The town learned of the death of F. L. Biswell a longtime Browning resident who collapsed while returning from Locust creek fishing Monday afternoon. Eyewitnesses reported seeing him fall and aid arrived to find him dead. Funeral services were held at his home with Rev. O. B. Hobbs presiding. Burial followed at Jenkins cemetery. An obituary will appear next week.

The Linn County Teacher's Association held its annual meeting at Brookfield High School on August 14, 1937. Attendees included 82 rural teachers, 19 municipal and consolidated teachers, and city superintendents led by L. W. Crookshanks and E. M. Curry. State Courses of Study were distributed and a round table discussion followed. Officers elected for the ensuing year were Margaret Street as president and Frances Lee Norvell as secretary.
