Virgil B. Hooe 47 salesman for Geo H Brown Lincoln died Monday at St Johns hospital Springfield after polio infection. Basket Dinner Honoring Jolley Brothers in Browning

About seventy five friends and relatives gathered October 22 at the American Legion Home in Browning for a basket dinner and visit honoring Floyd and Willis Jolley. The Jolley brothers left Missouri four decades ago for Washington state where they now reside Willis in Coulee City and Floyd in Hartline Cole Elder, Floyd Jolley son in law, accompanied them. Guests included Mrs. D. P. Myers Aller ton Iowa Mrs. K. M. Duncan Brookfield and Mrs. Herbert Castle Chillicothe among sisters and many children grandchildren and great grandchildren attended.

Lavon Neely a 19 year old of Brookfield was killed when a car driven by Clif ford Dennis 25 Brookfield struck his milk truck on Highway 5 two miles south of Marceline Junction at 1 30 Wednesday morning October 18 1950 Funeral services were held October 21 at 2 30 from Hill Funeral Home with Rev Kenneth Iley officiating Interment followed in Hill cemetery Neely survived by his mother Mrs Dorsey Stevenson Brookfield father Lloyd Neely Los Angeles California three sisters and two brothers along with grandparents aunts uncles nieces and nephews.
