The Friendship Circle Club met with Mrs Henry Patterson for an all day gathering on October 5 with ten members and one visitor Mrs Will Cumbo. Members brought covered dishes and a thimble. Mr and Mrs K F Laham and son Donald from Los Angeles visited North Salem area relatives including Mr and Mrs John Wyatt. Town Croquet Tourney Draws Expert Players
Several towns including Purdin Shetty Jamesport Chus Ridge Vaseville Gallatin Tindall and Browning sent four player teams to a local croquet tournament. Prizes of 10 5 and 2 5 awaited winners as grounds were prepared and matches planned amid busy morning sessions and heated play. More than 1,100 farm boys and girls from 46 Missouri counties attended 12 4-H camps statewide this summer. Each camp hosted about 95 youths for three days at costs from 1.00 to 3.50 dollars, with cabins or tents as living quarters and lessons in grasses weeds wildflowers and outdoor recreation. Pioneer mother Amanda Cassity Rites Held at Purdin
Amanda Cassity born November 4 1850 in Lee County Iowa died October 10 1932 at her home in Purdin Missouri aged 81 years 11 months 6 days. She with parents moved to Linn County Missouri in 1851 was married to D S Smith November 12 1875 with nine children born. Funeral services conducted at home at two oclock by D E Cady with Purdin Quartet, burial in Purdin cemetery. Also notes a Star route delivery change effective October 10 1932.

Change In Schedule Of Star Route Browning Service
Under orders from the Second Assistant Postmaster General the Star Route Winigan via North Salerno to Browning has been reversed starting Browning daily except Sunday after receipt of Star Route mail from Laclede R R Station. The change adds service to Missouri offices, speeds delivery for Kansas City and St Louis, and aligns dispatch times with train No. 7, though Sunday dispatch remains limited.
