Speech Broadcasted by Y Sound System Friday Fills Candidacy Rally

Lieutenant Governor EH and secretary of state hopefuls toured the city Friday, with J. H. Sound System broadcasting their remarks to a large audience. The portable apparatus, built by Captain J. D. Henry, seating many, was described as the world’s only of its kind and capable of stage-like effects from a moving platform. Speakers included Charley Thornton, who introduced them, and Mr. Thornspon, who spoke on state conditions. Captain Hieng’s system provided music between speeches, drawing a sizable crowd for fall festival. The event was part of the city’s celebrations and featured a grand, audible program across the gathering.

Browning Farm Club Sets 1932 Annual Meeting in Browning

The thirteenth annual stockholder meeting of Browning Farm Club will be at Electric Theatre Browning Mo on Tuesday October 25 1932 at 2 p m for at least three hours. Sold Calf Brings 125 Dollars Amid Good Market

Hank Thurlo sold a fine Angus bull calf for 125 dollars to James Barkley of Lucerne Missouri. Barkley noted a higher calf price last fall, while Thurlo has run his herd on superior bulls for years and could have commanded more, up to 250 dollars, with the right buyer.

Fall Festival Program Wraps Up in City

The Fall Festival under K M Duncan and others occurred Friday and Saturday with ideal weather and full programs. Floral hall, agriculture and poultry displays, horse shows, mule and saddle horse contests, baby show, and a lively parade drew crowds despite limited promotion. Friday featured drill corps and a Milan band. Saturday showcased races, dog show, and a large saddle horse display. Concessions and masked singers added to the lively scene, ending after midnight with many still lingering.

Big Stock Sale Announced Near City

T. Johnson called Tuesday morning and left an order for a sale of 130 head of stock at his farm ten miles east of the city on Thursday October 13. The sale features calves steers yearlings two year old heifers cows and Jersey milch cows inviting buyers to attend.
