Family Reunion At City Park Honors Jolley Kin

A reunion in the city park celebrated Willis and Floyd Jolley with about ninety relatives and friends. They visited former neighbors, shared a noon feast, and an afternoon baseball game followed the meal. Miss Vera received birthday wishes as guests departed.

Willing Workers Hold Annual Election Meeting in October

American Legion Post 274 and Ladies Auxiliary Meet in Purdin

A joint meeting of American Legion Post 274 and the Ladies Auxiliary was held in Purdin on Monday night October 7 with good attendance. Visitors included Mr and Mrs Lee Hall of Brookfield and Mrs Lee Hall district president who spoke briefly. Rev W W Walthall, former Oklahoma county commander, gave an address on the Legion purpose and benefits of membership. Refreshments of sandwiches doughnuts and coffee were served by the auxiliary.
