Nellie J. Carter born Browning Missouri July 3 1882 died near Tower Hill Illinois September 25 1915 of heart failure at 33. Mrs. Carter educated in local schools worked as a post office clerk for her father B. F. Carter married November 6 1906 to Frank P. Moore of Lakewood Illinois and resided there and in Colorado before moving to a farm near Lakewood at death. She leaves husband four children Lucille Franklin Edwin and Harold and several siblings. The community extends sympathy.
Notice for the 14th annual stockholders meeting of the Peopleg Bank in Browning Missouri on October 28 1915 at 9 am for at least three hours. Voted matters include reducing directors from eleven to five and electing eleven or five directors for the next year plus other proper business. James Neet president C Bailey secretary.

Members of the Brown ing union gathered at Mrs. J T Fleming s home for a Friday meeting October 1 1915 Devotional exercises were led by Mrs Fleming and discussion focused on whether roads would allow a car trip to North Salem to organize a union Weather and poor roads delayed plans After business the group enjoyed a dining room feast of sandwiches cake and coffee They closed with a temperance song and the W C T U benediction and departed hoping to continue their temperance work.
M F Miller of Missouri College of Agriculture urges prompt sowing of cover crops to prevent soil loss on bare fall and winter fields. He notes heavy rains cause erosion on rolling lands and praises rye as the best cover crop for Missouri, with roots that hold soil and reduce washing.
Wheat and barley provide a similar effect to rye, and the pasture secured is nearly as good. For average conditions rye is preferred, being harder than wheat or barley and able to be sown later if needed for soil binding.

N G Moody has sold his residence and art studio to Geo J Alexander who has run the north side studio for a year. Consideration is 2050 dollars. Possession to be given about October 9. Moody and wife are long time residents and built up a fine business but wish to relocate in Kansas.
Acting Dean Guy L. Noyes of the University of Missouri School of Medicine notes eye strain and refractive errors influence children's habits and life. He cites farsightedness near sightedness and astigmatism as factors in shaping behavior.
Doctor Noyes warns that a child with limited vision may misjudge sight, avoid outdoor games, and fall behind in school. Without early eye exams and properly fitted glasses, progressive nearsightedness can damage retinal elements beyond recovery. Regular school vision screenings are urged.
