Mrs S L Gibson Passes Away After Heart Attack
Mrs. S L Gibson of Chillicothe died at home 1013 Cooper Street Sunday night after a heart attack. She was born Flora M Purdin April 26 1862 in Linn County and married S L Gibson August 17 1884. Survived by her husband and three sons Arthur E Gibson Roy E Gibson and Lyle C Gibson with many siblings and grandchildren. Funeral held in Browning with services at M E Church and interment in Jenkins cemetery.

Uncle Polk Wood James K Polk eldest son of John and Martha Wood was born near Centerville Iowa January 23 1859 and died November 16 1937 at his brother and sister in law Everett Crook shanks home near Browning Missouri He was 78 years 9 months 23 days of age He moved as a child to Linn County Missouri where he spent his life He married Cordelia E Morris May 27 1888 and their home was one of hospitality His wife preceded him in death twelve years ago He was a devout Methodist at Morris Chapel He leaves two brothers Robert Wood of Purdin and John Wood of Linneus and a half brother Julius Willey of California plus many other relatives

Dr. A W Thompson 65 died Thursday morning at 6318 Baltimore avenue after a stroke at the home of A H Ryden 6324 Baltimore avenue while treating a Ryden family member. Former General hospital superintendent born in Malta Ohio studied in St Louis and Chicago. He practiced in Galt and Chillicothe before moving to Kansas City in 1916 to lead the welfare board and later head the General hospital until 1920. Survived by widow, three brothers Elmer, Charles, Dr William, and three sisters J L Hartin Mary Ikard Emma Courtright. Funeral at New Comer chapel Friday 2 PM. burial Mt Moriah cemetery.
