Lelia Grace Head age 10 died May 13 1918 from appendicitis after an operation. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Head and leaves two brothers Ivan and Carl one half sister Edith Head and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Belzer. Funeral services were led by Elder C E Potter and burial was in Grantyville cemetery.

Henry Frank Downing born July 21 1856 in Morgan County Kentucky moved to Grundy County Missouri in 1857 grew to manhood. Married Nancy J Nicholes January 7 1877. In 1879 they moved southeast of the city where he lived until his death May 2 1918 aged 61 years 10 months.

George H. May a prominent Pleasant Hill township farmer was killed by a lightning strike Monday evening near his home four miles east of Cora. He had accompanied Geo A Pipes to Milan prior to the accident and was a Republican candidate for Sullivan county recorder. He leaves a wife three children and many relatives and friends to mourn his untimely death.
