Missouri fruit prospects show uneven statewide outlook

Reports from county correspondents to the Board of Horticulture indicate good prospects for apples cherries pears plums and strawberries across much of Missouri but severe winter damage injures grapes bush fruits and peaches are nearly a total failure with only sparse partial crops in small regions. Overall Bloom and set percentages vary by region from northwest to west Missouri with some areas reaching near full yields while others show significant losses.

W. W. Chenoweth, secretary, cites berry crop percentages with raspberries 60 percent, gooseberries 84 percent, currants 80 percent, and overall berries at 52 percent.
