Last Saturday evening about 7 15 an alarm of fire was raised at the Mill aire. A large crowd and bucket brigade responded as smoke grew. The blaze was found in an elevator and was put out with buckets. Mr Crookshanks had worked at the mill all day but left around six. The fire is believed to have originated from a hot boxing.
A Browning suggestion asks local business men to finance construction of 24 road drags for farmers in the area. Farmers would pledge to work or support, with materials estimated at about one dollar per drag. A proponent urges starting a community paper drive to push the plan to completion.
Last Friday Mrs. A N Thurlo residing west of town was making soap when her dress caught fire. Her husband Mr Thurlo rushed from the field to rescue her. She fell face down smothering the flames, her clothes burned badly. Dr H E Epperson attended and reports she is getting along nicely.

The bankrupt stock of Gibson and Pulliam was sold yesterday. Fell & Co. of Linneus were the highest bidders at 5525 dollars. The stock invoice exceeds 9000 dollars. Purchasers plan to resume business soon and reopen the Browning store with new goods. Fell & Co. are prominent Linneus merchants.
Notice from Browning Missouri dated May 15 1907 requires all merchants and business people to close their places of business on Sundays in conformity with state statutes. The order takes effect the following Sunday May 19 1907 from the Mayor R J Sparks office.

Last night J H Alexander married Rosalie Bruce at the bride’s home east of town with Elder Nicholson officiating. The couple, son and daughter of local families, will live with Alexander’s parents. The issue notes community goodwill and a brief Browning, Missouri wedding with few attendees.
The 2-cent fare law takes effect June 11 allowing travel across Missouri for 2 cents per mile. Exclusions apply for missioning books and certain groups, with free transportation ending for ministers charity workers and others. Homeseekers excursions will be barred though through-travel remains allowed. Local cut rate trips may continue.
