The Climax School reports for the period from April 8 to May 3 show 21 pupils enrolled, 933 total attendance days, 9 attending daily, 5 tardies, and no punishments or truancy. A list of after and before school study hours names 13 pupils led by Gladys Wolf with 21 hours 30 minutes and Charley West with 18 hours 15 minutes.
The Yeomen Homestead group will host a July picnic at an unspecified location with various beams and attractions. Prizes and entertainment planned. Tellico flour promoted at Buxton’s.
Last Saturday evening Mrs G G Hersman enjoyed a surprise gathering at her north town home hosted by relatives and friends. Mr Hersman guided her on a walk and upon return a dinner feast awaited. Guests included G G Hersman and wife J I Harmon and wife J B Harmon and wife B D Bolling and son Beverly Jno Mairs and wife Roy J T Fleming and wife J P Bolling and wife W H Graham and wife and G S Kays and wife.
Last Friday morning began snowing and persisted all day, dropping about four inches. The night brought a sharp freeze that may have damaged fruit, though pastures and winter wheat gained protection for the corn. The event marks an unusual May snow in recent years.
The Brownm Board will meet Wednesday May 17 1907 to select teachers for the coming school year by order of Kille Secretary.
