A severe snow storm struck Friday with heavy flakes, rain during lulls, and slush on the ground. The storm disrupted farm work and stock care, while a strong crowd attended spring events and the Sunday School Worker's Council planned a full meeting at Prof and Mrs Holman's home Friday at 7 30.

Mrs Elsie Hollon of Milan reports the death of Elza Mc Collum and Veda Britton of Lookeba Oklahoma in a head on collision on highway 81 South at Chickasha on Thursday March 9. They were in a new V8 Ford and previously lived near North Salem before moving west in 1901.
Mrs Zella Woodworth announces her candidacy for city collector in the upcoming city election. The widow and experienced former Benton township collector urges support, noting the role’s modest pay but practical aid for her sustenance.
O. H. Moberly state commissioner of finance in Jefferson City appoints Attorney Charley Johnson of Linneus to manage the Farmers Exchange Park. Johnson will strive to make bank assets cover as much liability as possible, his acquaintance with locals aiding collections.
First Baptist Church notes a yearly high of forty six in Sunday School last Sunday. Leaders urged adult members to attend Sunday morning sessions and aim to surpass the half century milestone.

Miss Lora Fields and Clifton Weter wed last Saturday after obtaining a marriage license in Milan. Rev Jones of the M E C South performed the ceremony. The bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs J S L Fields and the groom is from Milan. They reside with the bride’s parents while receiving congratulations.

In 1933 House records, Romjue proposes government bonds totaling 2 to 4 billion dollars to buy existing farm mortgages as a relief measure. Bonds would bear up to 3 percent interest, mature within twenty years, with appraisal guidance and safe investments prioritized. Names listed include Benton-Lorene Whaley and Geo Deinhart among others.

County tax collectors report a general drop in revenue with an average collection rate of 78.2 percent. Baker township led with 85.6 percent collected by Roy R. Stone.

Voters flocked to the polls on election day in Benton and Duncan townships. Republicans won seats in both townships with Walter Head and M. M. Barrows elected to the boards, while various community members performed in a social gathering.
W B Austin announces purchase and possession of the barber shop formerly owned by Wallace Grice. He promises a first class up to date operation with courtesy and service as the motto and invites patrons to try the new shop Saturday morning, April first.
The Friendship Circle held an all day session on March 22 with Mrs. Leon Gooch as guest. The agenda focused on chicken incubators and potato topics.

Mr and Mrs W B Austin of Boonville arrived here Monday and will reside at the Mrs Cora Shirley home. Mr Austin owns Grice barber shop and will take possession Saturday. The community welcomes the family back and hopes they settle permanently after years of wandering.
