Emma Dickinson dies after long illness near Brown ing Missouri

Emma Adell Tucker born July 15 1873 near Burlington Kansas died June 5 1942 at her home east of Brown ing Missouri after a long illness. She married Lorenzo Archibald Dickinson December 19 1894 and had four children. Funeral service June 7 at the Christian Church in Browning with Rev. Spurling and four singers. Interment in Enterprise cemetery.

Bitter Sweet Club Holds June Meeting at Ruth Wood Home

The Bitter Sweet Club met June 3 at Miss Ruth Wood's home with twelve members and five visitors. Flag Day program was patriotic. Members voted to buy a bond. a miscellaneous shower celebrated new bride and member Mrs Delmar Oertwig. Refreshments were served. Next meeting with Mrs Glenn Cooper on June 17.

Happy Workers Club Meets With Mrs Minnie Helms

The Happy Workers Club gathered on Wednesday June 4 with twelve members seven men eight children and five visitors including Mrs Minnie Harris and visitors Mrs Helen Harris Miss Betty Jo Ball Ruth Knight Eleanor Knight and Doris Harris. Activities included quilting and embroidery after a noon dinner a program featured songs and a devotional led by Mrs Nellie Brown. Eleanor Knight gave a report on her trip through the west from Hesperus Colorado. Members discussed conserving sugar and contest winners were Mrs Lenore Knight and Mrs Mary Ball. The group will meet again with Mrs Edna Knight on Monday June 22 and roll call will be Your most exciting experience.

Linn County Students Form North east Missouri Summer Club

British Strew IOP Bombs on Nazis

Lieut. Col. Otto M. Jank said bombs loaded at the Burlington Iowa ordnance plant may bear the IOP stamp and were used in Cologne and Essen raids. He noted the plant exceeded monthly production quotas except March, drawing applause at a chamber dinner. Local workers named include Miss Eudora Harris among others.

President Mrs. Floy Peterson led in prayer and devotion on Ruth, then business concluded with Verlea Foxe elected auxiliary leader and third vice president after Rebecca Exline moved away. Browning Methodist Circuit Outlook and Youth Rally

The Browning Methodist Circuit notes devotionals at the Brookfield Zone meeting in Bucklin last Tuesday. Next Monday night a Youth Rally is planned at Linneus with the pastor taking a car full. Services Sunday at Roger in both hours with themes Glory Honor and Immortality and Forgiveness and Vengeance. Members will join during the morning service with the sacraments and reception of members.
