Longtime Linneus Resident Lilburn P Gilmer Dies at 91

Lilburn Price Gilmer born Sullivan County Missouri April 18 1859 died in his Linneus Missouri home June 1 1950 at age 91 after a long life of pioneer service. Survived by wife Lola Street two children Elizabeth Bagley and Lilburn Gilmer and many grandchildren great grandchildren and relatives. Services held June 3 at the Purdin Methodist Church with 1 O C F involvement and graveside rites at Purdin cemetery.

Death of Arthur A. Couch in Linneus Missouri

Arthur A. Couch born July 7 1871 near Linneus died May 26 1950 at 78.9. He married Josie Chichester in 1892 and had four children. widowed in 1918, he remarried Anna M. Boyles in 1922. Survived by wife Anna one stepson Carl Raymond Boyles of Tulsa and children Nevie Wayne Eula, plus eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was a Primitive Baptist church member and longtime Odd Fellow. funeral in Bucklin with Elder Walter Acton delivering comfort and local music.

Youth group outing to Laredo ends with 28 attendees

The Intermediate and Junior class of the Baptist Church enjoyed a Monday evening trip to Laredo for a weiner roast. Games fishing and swimming kept everyone entertained. They returned about 9 30. Teacher Merril Peterson drove the truck. A good time was had by all.

Funeral services for Ed Singleton, who died early Monday, were held June 7 at the funeral home in Linneus. Interment followed in the IOOF cemetery. He is survived by his wife and three children Lester Singleton George Singleton and Mrs Gladys Bowyer of Browning. Mrs Singleton is sister of Walter and Elmer Taylor.
