Pioneer J Ivan Harmon dies at 81 in Browning Missouri
John Ivan Harmon born April 1 1854 in Sullivan County Missouri died July 6 1935 at Browning Missouri age 81 years 3 months 5 days. He farmed and ran livestock before moving to Browning to run Farmers Exchange Bank as president. Survived by daughter Ada Bolling granddaughter Virginia Bolling brother Jacob Harmon and many relatives. Funeral July 8 at Browning Christian Church with burial at Kaifong cemetery. Judge Henry Johnson is Remembered in Linn County
Henry Johnson died at his home in Purdin Saturday night after a long illness. Born September 13, 1856 near Moorehead Kentucky, he served Linn county two full terms as presiding judge. Survived by son Guy Johnson and two daughters, with several brothers and cousins in Missouri. Funeral at M. E. Church South in Purdin Monday at 2 p.m. He had suffered a paralytic stroke 15 years ago.

Floods Wreck Creeks Across Sullivan Region Last Week
Regular cloud bursts last week flooded creeks in North Missouri, damaging corn wheat oats and pastures. Fishermen old timers say creeks rose higher than in years in the Kingdom of Sullivan, and hill land suffered extensive harm. Mail and train service between here and Pollock delayed due to railroad track damage but traffic resumed by week’s end.

Busy Linn County farmers are urged to attend a Soil Erosion meeting at the Linneus Court House at 8 p m on Wednesday July 17.
