George Alexander taught at Hooker school this winter and closed the term Friday. Patrons arrived before noon with provisions for a traditional dinner, enjoyed by all. The afternoon featured an excellent program and the school was judged a decided success.

Worthy Grand Patron W H Tate and associates aided the Grand Chapter of Missouri in instituting Locust Chapter of Eastern Star at Browning. Twenty two members initiated with Mollie Crawley as Worthy Matron and W P Nickell as Worthy Patron. Officers include Maude Fields associate matron and J Roy Mairs secretary with a full slate in the newly formed chapter. After the ceremony the work was demonstrated and light refreshments served, with praise for an instructive evening.
Eunice Lawrence charmingly entertained the Happy-Go-Lucky Entertainment club at her home on February 14. Lena Adams Leon Hunter and Dorris Harvey won games and contests. Out of town guests Ray Smith Ernest Harmon and Joel Dewitt left praising the hostess and hoping for another similar event.
All parties interested in Kaifong Grove cemetery are asked to meet Tuesday February 27 at 1 o clock to elect officers for the coming year. By order of Com.

Singing by Mrs Essie Slack Mrs Lorene Whaley and Miss Mattie Lockhart. Instrumental music by Miss Maud Fields Mrs Dickinson and Mrs Artie Calhoun. Refreshments served and guests left around midnight wishing Valentine day came more often.
Word reached here that Mrs. Margaret Rodgers died February 13 after a brief illness while living with her daughter near Isabelle Kansas. Born in Wests 7izean ago she moved to Sullivan county with her parents in 1844 and was the last of the old Schrock family with many relatives and friends in the area.

Chas. B. Keithley renewed his LEADER-RECORD subscription on Friday and paid for his daughter Mrs John Falconer of Moreland Oklahoma. He plans to move to Kansas City where he will serve as assistant superintendent of the Dunlap Live Stock Commission Company. He is noted as an excellent stockman and expected to be a valuable addition to the firm.
