Stitch and Chatter Club Hosts Christmas Gathering

The Stitch and Chatter group held a December 21 gathering at Lucille and Clara's with 38 men, 32 women, 14 children. Teachers from Dickinson and Enterprise schools Brought programs, readings and songs, and members traded gifts, enjoyed candy and popcorn, and planned a January 12 meeting hosted by Mrs. Carrie Bowyer.

Willing Workers Club Christmas Quilting and Party

The Willing Workers met with Mrs. Bertha Lewis on December 12 in an all day quilting session with twelve members present. Contests were won by Hazeline Morrow Eva Sharp and Helen Morrow. The group held a December 16 party at the Duffield Schoolhouse with families invited and prizes awarded to Gladys Boehner Hazeline Morrow Dickie Neet and Floyd Ross.

True Blue Club Hosts December Meeting

True Blue Club at Mrs. Willard Phillips was host to the gathering on December 22 with Mrs. El Smith as leader. Because roads were muddy, Mrs. Tom Morris and Mrs. Mary Molloy used wagons and teams to convey attendees.

Willing Workers Club Christmas Meeting Hosted by Mrs Campbell

Mrs Lena Campbell hosted the Willing Workers Club on Wednesday December 22 with a decorated home and rug making and quilt block work. A noon dinner preceded a 2 pm business meeting and plans for the next gathering. A Christmas tree and Santa provided entertainment along with music and readings arranged by Mrs Emma Haley.

Miss Martha Creason and Robert Smith Wed at Linneus

Robert Smith and Miss Martha Creason united in marriage Friday afternoon December 24 at the M E Church South in Linneus officiated by Rev H E Corbin. The couple, attended by the bride's sister and brother and by the Burtches, hosted a wedding dinner and received friends at both families' homes. The bride is daughter of Ola F Creason of west of Purdin and a Purdin high school graduate. The groom is a farmer, son of E R Smith of Eversonville neighborhood. The newlyweds plan to live on a farm near Eversonville.

The Jolly Janes Club held a December 22 gathering at Mrs. Mattie Head's home with fourteen members and one guest. They talked about comfort sewing, piecing, embroidery, and exchanged Christmas gifts before a bountiful noon dinner. The meeting ended with a prayer.

Sunshine Workers Club Holiday Quilting Meeting

The Sunshine Workers Club held an all day session with Mrs Roy el. Members crafted two wool filled comfort quilts with one nearly finished and another half done. A wool scrap top was close to completion. A Christmas dinner followed, decorated hall, blessings by Mrs Mellie Thudhum, and a program of readings songs and a gift exchange. Visitors attended and a candy box was sent to a ill member Lizzie Nester. Meeting closed with the Lord's Prayer. Next meeting with Dorothy.
