Near Milan Man Survives Carbon Monoxide Truck Rescue

Francis Gooch son of Mr and Mrs Dean Gooch near Milan narrowly escaped death from carbon monoxide in a truck cab. He had driven a load from Saginaw Michigan to Blue Island Illinois and, when the gates opened late, kept the engine running with a window cracked. A watchman found him unconscious about 8 am and he was treated at a hospital for thirty hours. A leaking exhaust gasket likely caused the gas buildup.

Memorial for Roy Carter at State Hospital North

Roy Carter died at 12 15 p m January 20 paralysis age 50 after 18 years at State Hospital North. He came from Wallace Idaho and is survived by brother C F Carter of Billings Montana. Funeral services were held January 22 at Shaw's chapel with Rev George W Cooper officiating and burial in Riverside cemetery. Carter was well known in Orofino and remembered for his cheerful outlook and service around the hospital. He worked under Dr J W Given and Dr McKelway and once carried mail to the post office.

Mary Reidenbach Former Resident of Purdin Passes

Mary Reidenbach daughter of Adam and Magdalena Reidenbach was born February 13 1874 and died December 13 1937 at age 63. She married Arthur W Buswell March 22 1905 and lived six and one half miles east of Purdin Missouri. She joined the Presbyterian church at eighteen and is survived by her husband two sisters Ida Lambert and Lizzie Pendale plus a host of relatives and friends. Funeral at Pleasant Grove U B Church December 15 led by Rev W M Owen Browning with interment nearby.
