Funeral services for Elsie Madeline Foster Stephenson 74 who died December 17 1950 at her daughter’s home in Browning were held December 19 at the Christian Church with Rev Icenogle officiating. She was born August 1 1876 in Sullivan County Missouri and lived in the area her entire life. She married George W Stephenson January 5 1898 and had ten children. Pallbearers were grandsons and burial in Kaifong cemetery followed Wade Funeral Service.

On December 11 Liberty basketball teams traveled to Mville to begin the Mooresville tournament. The Liberty girls beat Avalon 29-16 and the Liberty boys defeated Mooresville 42-21 to lead the standings. The girls then beat New York Cons 51-42 while the boys lost 44-81. Liberty then faced unbeaten Mooresville Friday and lost. Saturday Liberty edged Meadville 25-24 for third place.
