Mrs Hosteter, housekeeper for Mr and Mrs J S Jacobs route one, brought a dozen turkey eggs from a neighbor. Nine poults hatched and were marketed on Saturday. Some turkeys weighed twenty one pounds each, a remarkable contrast to wholesale losses on young turkeys last summer.
Miss Cleo Muir of Greencastle and Blaine Nickell of Winigan wed on Saturday December 7 at the Kirksville home of Rev. T. E. Spurling. Attendants were Miss Catherine Kelley and Lyndall Mayfield. They plan to reside on a farm near Winigan.

The Home Workers Club of Dry Ridge in Linn County Missouri received a certificate from the Missouri Agriculture Extension Service for completing the Rural Women’s Extension Club Standard of Achievements for 1935, their first year of work. The note details a Thanksgiving dinner program with Munhall and Pierce schoolchildren, Christmas plans, and a January 1 meeting hosted by Mrs Gladys McCollum with twelve members and one visitor.
The Willing Workers met for an all day session with Mrs. Mary Vincent. Members tacked and embroidered textiles then shared a noon meal. President Lena Campbell led the business meeting with reports and contests won by Mary Griffis and Mabel Brown. Visitors attended and the group adjourned to January 1, 1936.
The Sunshine Workers Club met with Mrs. Mabel Maxwell for an all day session on December 11. Members tacked two comforts, bound one quilt and cut rug rags before a midday dinner hosted by the hostess. At 2 PM the meeting was called to order by president Mrs. Piercy Cordray.
The True Blue Club met at Geneva Morris to craft twenty toys for Carrollton Orphans Home, featuring animals from cloth and inner tubes. After a hearty dinner, members voted fifty cents to tuberculosis relief and discussed screening tests while seven teen members and three visitors attended. The next gathering is set for January at Stella Mae Gooch's.
The school board announces a full week break for Christmas, marking the first multi day yule tide holiday in years. Previously only Xmas was observed. with Christmas midweek, the decision aims to please teachers and students and restore vigor after the rest period.

Charles Edgar Murphy born July 24 1860 in Clark County Missouri died at his Browning home December 14 1935 aged 75 years 4 months 20 days He married Cynthia Bennett February 2 1890 who died October 21 1933 They had son Ernie who died at eighteen He is survived by aunt Mrs Anna Stone Harrisburg Ark and by Olin Murphy Velma Murphy and Mary Lou Murphy lived with him Funeral at 1:30 pm Monday by Rev W W Clay Interment Mundell Cemetery Mundell Cemetery.

Charles Lowe, son of Mrs. Clara Pipes, formerly of this city and now of Brookfield, received his call to the Navy. He reported Monday morning in Chillico and proceeded to St. Louis and the Great Lakes in Chicago to begin his service for the government. He had long sought entry into naval service and was eager to start.
Orbra Jones, Dun Can township collector, will visit Cora on Thursday Roger on Friday and Browning for the remainder of the week to collect taxes.
Mrs Emma Jane Jennings born September 25 1876 Linn County Missouri died December 13 1935 at age 59. She married Walter Jennings December 8 1895 and had four children Fay McKinley Jennings Grethel Batye Ber Nice Jones and Odis Ray Jennings. Survived by four grandchildren stepchildren and extended family. Funeral held at 3 PM with Rev O H Hobbs. delayed by bad roads.
The brother remained at the church with the body all night while the service and burial proceeded Sunday morning. The brother arrived at 6 o'clock Sunday, and interment followed at nine in North Salem Cemetery.

LaVera Mae Turner Robertson died December 15 1935 at Chillicothe Hospital aged 26 years 8 months 15 days. She married Omer Preston Robertson June 30 1935 and taught four terms near Chillicothe. She was a Mt Olive Baptist member and survived by husband parents sister and grandfather.
