Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Johnson hosted a twelve o'clock Sunday dinner on Nov 19 with daughters Mrs. Fihholm and Miss Amelia assisting. Guests included Dr. and Mrs. Epperson, Dr. and Mrs. Ben Gooch of St. Joseph, Miss Bernice Rolling, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Adams and daughter Orryl. The group praised the Johnsons as skilled entertainers. C. M. Pryor of Brookfield Me. promoted as real estate and farm sales specialist.

They left for a wedding supper at the Johnson home as friends extend congratulations.
The Farmers Store announces a sale starting Saturday December 9 lasting through December 23 with 20 percent discounts on clothing. Items include ladies suits and coats misses coats child coats ladies skirts men's overcoats and suits boys overcoats and knickerbocker suits.
Hopeful Camp No. 33865 R N A mourns the death of sister Neighbor Tempie Harman a faithful and useful member beloved by all. The camp hall will be draped in mourning for 30 days and copies of the resolutions and notice sent to the Browning Leader Record for publication.
The P. E. O. Society met at Mrs. Jennie Ep person’s home on Saturday November 18. President Mrs. Ivah Fleming led the session and members pledged to the educational fund as the Thanksgiving offering. Guest Miss Mary Wilcox from Chapter A. M Linneus gave an impromptu talk. Refreshments followed and the next meeting is set for December 9 at Mrs. Louie Duncan’s home with roll call quotations from Shakespeare.
The week closed on a sale making W. B. Austin owner of half interest in the Bennett barber shop as Bennett retires. Bennett and his son Lafe had run a profitable trade, with Bennett handling shoe mending at Howell's shop. Almatam recently returned from.
A Brookshier school box supper on Wednesday night November 29 drew a smaller crowd due to bad roads. Mr. Williams impressed as an elocution instructor, Opal Alspach won a solid gold ring for most popular young lady, James Kenley earned the prize for ugliest man. Net proceeds were 15.30 with funds to buy an organ and replenish the library. The district thanks Mr. Williams for his work.
Pupils winning certificates for perfect attendance in the third month include Lloyd Mundell Myron Mundell Noel and Arthur Bennett Blanche Belcher Ola Belcher Merl Stone Earl Stone Golda Myers Glen Stone Lyle Stone and Russel Bailey The school plans a box supper on Friday night December 22 to raise funds for the library with songs monologues dialogues and drills and invites Etta Bailey to attend.
J. P. Osborn invoices his stock of implements to J. W. Jones who traded his farm for it weeks ago. Osborn made many friends during his stay. Jones, formerly in city business, has strong local backing. Jones bought the building and lots previously held by E. A. Jones except the corner lot and its west neighbor. The stock will soon be moved to the new location.
The Fuller Brothers held a hog sale in Galt weeks ago yielding sixty fine hogs at good prices. Last Saturday the group visited Trenton to attend the Wingate sale where they bought a head of hogs.
The butcher shop announces a move to the old Farmers Exchange bank building. It invites customers to visit the new location and notes it is a headquarters for fresh oysters celery and onions. Signed Chas. Bailey.
