Aunt Julia Hoskins Glidwell dies after long illness

Julia Ann Hoskins, known as Aunt Julia, died November 21, 1912, at the old home near Cora Missouri. She was born September 29, 1841 in Howard County and moved to Sullivan County in 1846. Survived by five children Rev. Robert Glidewell Mendota Missouri Blaine Glidewell Arkansas Minnie Glidewell Mary Hite near Cora. two brothers James and Sydney Hoskins. one sister Mrs. Roan Des Moines Iowa. many grandchildren and friends. Funeral led by Rev. Nickell Browning, burial Deep Springs cemetery.

Linn County Spelling Contest Plan Adopted at Brookfield

Large 396 Acre Enterprise Farm Sold in Linn County

Ralph Leonard sold his 396 acre farm in Enterprise township to W. E. Ware for 22500 with Ware’s city residence valued at 3000 as part of the deal. Leonard family plans winter in Kansas City and may buy a smaller farm next spring. C M Thornton brokered the trade, described as among Linn county’s largest this year. Mr and Mrs Ware will relocate to the farm soon.

The Imperial Literary Society of the Jenkins school met on Friday November 22 1912. The program included songs essays recitations a debate on consolidated versus separate schools with the affirmative winning. Eva Haley served as secretary.
