Mrs Lydia Barclay hosted a large member gathering and family outing to Shennandoah Iowa to visit two broadcasting stations. The 33 attendees traveled from Galt Humphreys Tren ton Lineville Clarinda St Joseph Hamilton Chillicothe, covering about 400 miles in six hours each way. They reported green corn, good roads, and enjoyed the trip as much as the visit to Earl May's and Country School events.

The Linn County 4 H delegation of twenty five youths and leaders returned from the Missouri State Roundup in Columbia with multiple honors. Martin Baugher led with first in corn and horses and high overall livestock, plus fourth in sheep. The Livestock Team won top honors in horses and strong showings in beef and sheep, while other 4 H groups earned ribbons in home economics, baking, and health contests. Several members performed in entertainment events and a group of youths traveled with Linn County Farm Bureau support.

All second place winners from the County 4-H Roundup traveled to Chillicothe on Wednesday August 16. The group toured facilities including the Produce Plants Creamery Bottling Works Glove Factory and Girls Industrial Home under the guidance of Mr Triplett vice president of the Chamber of Commerce.
