Descendants of Wm B Roach Hold 1934 Reunion at Humphreys Park
The Roach family gathered Sunday August 2 1934 at Humphreys Park for a third reunion. Aunt Em Roach the sole surviving second generation member attended at age eighty seven, with Missouri and West Virginia relatives present. A dinner in the park followed by a Methodist church program featured local Sunday school leaders and a day of greetings among many relatives and friends.

Havens and Hooker Tie In Linneus in July Wedding
James M. Havens married Mrs. Mary Hooker at Linneus by Judge Pratt on July 28 1934. The bride daughter of Mrs. Pittman Rankin Texas brings skills in home making. Groom H F Havens son and farmer west of town enjoys strong regard. The couple kept the union secret while resolving farm affairs at Laredo. They now reside at the groom’s home and welcome inquiries.

Passing of Mrs Amelia Bray in Eldon Missouri
Amelia Bray born March 10 1880 Eldon Missouri died August 2 1924 aged 54 years 4 months 22 days. She married Jno W Bray in 1903 and leaves six siblings and many relatives. She joined the church at twelve later affiliating with Shelby Church of Christ and lived faithfully until death after a long cancer illness. Funeral held August 4 at Garner cemetery with Eld Chafee delivering the discourse. Burial followed and floral tributes honored her standing in the Sunshine Workers club and community.

Browning Community Clubs Hold Annual Meeting
Browning residents gathered in the park for the second annual meeting. Quilts on display were smaller due to cost. Officers Mrs Goldin Abbott and Mrs Reba Nickell were reelected. Sunshine Workers Stitch and Chatter Willing Workers and Friendship Circle reported member counts and audiences. Readings and songs entertained attendees as plans for next year’s convention and meeting were outlined.

Longtime Browning Matriarch Dies at 92
Rebecca Ann Prather, daughter of Meshack and Elizabeth Minnis Smith, born March 3 1842 in Sullivan County Missouri, died August 9 1934 at her Browning home. Survived by one daughter Bertha Tomlin and three sons William Walter Ross Estas and Ernest Fay, twenty two grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, and a sister Elizabeth Smith Clem. Funeral held August 12 at the Baptist church conducted by Rev Drinkard.

Powell Family Reunion Honors Returning Powell Family Members
The Powell family held a reunion at Mrs. A. Powell’s home west of Lnneus on Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Francis Powell and their son from Livingston Montana who had not returned home in seven years. Nine children attended along with W. F. Stone and W. B. Powell. Mrs. Powell welcomed her children grandchildren and other relatives for a joyful day.
