Milan Eagles Beat Local Club In Cold Aprilday Baseball

Milan defeated the home team 18 to 9 in a thawed Sunday tilt despite a brisk northwester and cold crowds. Neely pitched for Milan with Rogers and Ford handling batteries. local players included Hass and Ned at short and third, while Red relieved Ned late. Milan Courtroom Contract Lets Neat New Facility

The Milan county court awarded furniture contract to E G Kern for the new court room rented from Reuben Payne. The building atop the former St Charles hotel site includes two heated jury rooms, good lighting and ventilation, and leaves residents pleased with the court’s decision. Rent is 350 dollars yearly and furniture costs total 500 to 600 dollars. Plans include removing the old mound and locust trees, planting new trees, and sowing the lawn to create a fine park district feature in northern Missouri.

Browning Public School Commencement at Whaley Opera House

The Browning Public School commencement was held Friday night April 22 at the Whaley opera house. Seniors and eight grade graduates were celebrated with poetry recitations including Miss Caroline Biswell and Miss Vesta Sayers, orations by Ross C. Burke and Geo. J Alexander, and remarks by Prof. H. Clay Harvey.
