Browning Creamery Organized in Growing City

Messrs Sturgis and Simmons organized a stock creamery with about sixty two shareholders. S L Gibson was named chairman, F G Peters secretary, committees appointed for nominating bylaws and building, and two lots purchased from L C Lantz for the new plant. Hung jury retried in September in Browning Browning case

Last Thursday in Chillicothe Judge Davis presided over the Willis vs city of Browning case for a $20,000 sidewalk fall. Witnesses described a hole and broken boards on the east side. Court adjourned to 8:30 Friday as the jury prepared to decide in the September term.

Medals Awarded At School Reading and Spelling Contest

At the opera house on Saturday night B D Bolling awarded a gold medal to Marjorie Rinehart for best spelling in the second intermediate department. Lorence Fields won the grammar medal with Doris Harvey taking second prize a silver dollar. J M Wattenbarger presented prizes as a crowded audience applauded. No boys competed in the reading contest urging local boys to try next year.

Gospel Brigade to open meetings at First M. E. Church

The Ayers Hillborn Union Gospel Brigade will begin a series of meetings at the First M E Church this city Saturday night April 23. They come highly recommended and have done good works in other places. They preach the gospel in the good old fashioned way not tied to any denomination. All invited to the opening service Saturday night.

Injured by a cow on Saturday morning

Mrs. Harvey was knocked down and stamped by a cow in the lot Saturday morning. She suffered a head gash and possible leg fracture as neighbors drove the animal away. A doctor treated her at home, and she is recovering as well as could be expected.
