Also includes a letter urging bankers to end overdrafts and a Brookfield parade and concert notice.
On November 22 I sent a letter urging banks to eliminate overdrafts. Many bankers support the policy and report relief, while a few remain passive. Banks prohibiting overdrafts make it urgent to require compliance from the few still not following the rule.
Linn county selects a group of young men for military training at Camp Funston Kansas with a Friday departure. Recipients include J R Schreckhise Marceline Frank Chamberlain Meadville Lee Foster Purdin Alfred Dominique Meadville Howard Johnson Purdin George Evans St Kate Robert Murphy Marceline Glen Helms Brookfield and others.
Telegram confirms the 856th Infantry from Camp Funston Kansas will visit Brookfield Missouri on Saturday April 27 with performances in the afternoon and night. Mrs. D F Howard and Secretary R C Brookfield receive details and promises further letters outlining Sunday activities.
Mollie Kiger nee Cotter born March 27 1848 near Browning Linn County Missouri died April 7 1918 at Alexandria Missouri aged 70 years 11 days She married P Kiger March 9 1866 they had three children The family moved to Clark County in 1885 She joined Alexandria Presbyterian Church in 1898 and led the Dorcas Society for years She suffered paralysis last March and passed away Her survivors include husband daughter Alice Baker of Alexandria son William Kiger of Kahoka and granddaughter Mamie Schindler of Kahoka A son James Wesley preceded her in death Funeral services were held April 1918 at 2 pm from the Alexandria Presbyterian Church with burial in the Frazees and half miles on Wayland The service
