Obituary for Mary E. Hopson Turner

Mary E Hopson born May 25 1857 in Camp Point Illinois moved to Missouri in 1865 married James P Turner on July 4 1876 was a devoted member of Parson Creek Baptist Church. She died after an accident Friday evening funeral conducted by Rev J W Drinkard at Mt Olive cemetery with many mourners and sympathy for James Turner.

Senator William J. Stone Dies in Washington

Missouri's senior senator William Joel Stone died in Washington after a second paralysis attack. Born May 7 1848 in Madison County Kentucky he studied law at Columbia and Missouri. A leading public servant he served as governor from 1892 to 1896 and was a U S senator from 1903 until his death. his body was brought to Nevada Missouri for burial.
