R D Crookshanks longtime Jackson Township resident died April 15 1912 in Missouri. Born October 21 1829 in Greenbrier County Virginia he married twice first to Mariah Miller and later to Margaret Phillips. Survived by eight children from both marriages and funeral services led by G W Moss with Rev J W Drinkard.

Last Friday Mark Gooch was struck by a limb with a double bit axe while chopping near D C Pierce's residence. Pierce rode to Gooch’s with cotton and camphor, helped bandage and stop the bleeding until the doctor arrived. Gooch is recovering at home on Dave Street Farm.
