City and county law activity slowed over the past three days with police investigating a 11:40 a.m. Wednesday crash involving a 1957 Buick driven by Marsha Estes and a 1964 Chevrolet driven by M C Ledbetter. Another 5:26 p.m. Thursday crash at 523 S Second involved a 1965 Chevrolet driven by Jesus Vasquez and a parked 1962 Pontiac owned by Marion Hopson. damages estimated at 10 and 159 dollars respectively. Additional incidents include shoplifting by youths, vandalism at Darwin Ford Sales, and several arrests on public intoxication, grand jury attachment, disturbance, and bond matters. Brownfield firemen fought cotton trailer fires 12 miles south on Foster Road Thursday. The Retail Committee outlined Christmas decorations plans with a $2,700 budget, a musical tree at the courthouse square, and donor appeals ahead of Santa visits Thursdays and Saturdays.
