Mystery in Brownfield as Lucas Named Prime Suspect

The three year probe into Dianna Bryant’s death continues with Henry Lee Lucas identified as a prime suspect. Lucas was brought to Brownfield for questioning by Police Chief J T Churchwell after an interview that left officials unsettled. The Bryant case dates to April 1981 when a duplex resident found the Brownfield High student dead with a cord and a knife nearby. The scene showed a sleeping, unharmed pair of children, while authorities grappled with false leads and frustration in solving the crime. Lucas’s ties to other murders, his claimed Satanic cult affiliation, and his partner Toole have raised fears of a wider pattern of violence across states.
