Four newly elected Councilmen O'Daniel Isaacs Stice and Willis were sworn by Mayor Graham Swain after the canvass. Outgoing members Edwards Cox and Sears received plaques for six years of service. Isaacs named mayor pro tem, with Webb and Powell reappointed to the Zoning Board. Stice joined Plumbing Board and TML Region III committee. Willis to serve on two boards.

Middle School to stage Forever Free at 6:30 pm
Brownfield Middle School Choral Department presents its year end edutainment musical revue Forever Free at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium. The show teaches drug free concepts through music and narration with random cast statements and songs. Choral director Karla Nicodemus says the piece supports the STARS drug free program. Choir members sing, choreograph, and use student made props. A prior showing for Intermediate students occurred last Wednesday. No admission charge.

Anita Hancock Receives Region I Homemaker Award
Anita Hancock named Region I Conservation Homemaker of the Mrs Hancock award covering 44 Panhandle and South Plains counties during the Texas Soil and Water Conservation Banquet in Plainview. The long awaited honor highlighted her canning, home food preservation, farm record keeping, 4-H leadership, WIFE involvement and community service with Meals on Wheels.
